Garry Smith

Operations Manager

Garry started work as an apprentice with Austin Rover Group at Longbridge, Birmingham, UK, training as a Mechanical and Production Engineer.
Having successfully completed his apprenticeship, he worked for the Power- Train Division installing and commissioning a Flexible Manufacturing System (FMS). Over the following years, Garry then successfully achieved the roles of Shift Supervisor and then Manger, operating the section as a successful autonomous cost centre and soon became the Facilities and Technical Support Manger for the Prototype Power-Train Division, covering all of the MG Rover and Land Rover sites.
Garry then achieved a Master of Science Degree in Engineering Business Management and used his knowledge to manage several multi-million pound projects.
Looking for a new challenge he moved to the National Exhibition Centre (NEC) UK, as a project manager assisting in the delivery of a forty million pound site and facility refurbishment. During this time he was approached by newbow aerospace ltd with an offer to join them at an exciting time of a management buyout and business expansion, accepting the position of Operations Manager.
